What the Hell Happened?

August 18, 2001- Jenna & Seavey's basement in Savin Hill, MA

Primordial Dwarfs first 'gig'. Its a party for a couple of dozen friends and coworkers. We were definitely not what people were expecting but they stuck around anyway. D'Baggg scared the shit out of more than one person in the room. Our drummer gets a new moniker, Vomit although the origins are a mystery since he didn't in fact vomit.  KoR's Tip of the Day - drink 8 crappy American beers before you go on.  The set went of without a hitch and I didn't get fired despite the fact Lizard called all my coworkers mutherfuckers.   We opened for the State Street BPS All-Stars and there was a special late night appearance by 3/4 of The Legend of Jesse Christos Set list: ITS MINE, Subterfuge, Born Hate Love Kill, Dying, Crawl

August 23, 2001 - O'Briens in Allston, MA

Well we were worried that our set wouldn't be long enough since it was just us and Ghetto Thunder playing. However when we got there it turned out they had booked SEVEN bands for the evening. Unfortunately we had to drop Senseless Persecution from the list. We started off the night with me insulting all the punk rock kids in the audience. The bass and guitar were friggin' loud which seemed to please the old metal head in the ripped jeans standing in front. I butchered Born Hate Love Kill which was too bad since it turned out to be our last complete song (they stopped us half way through Descend because we were over our time limit -SWINE!).   Got our first non-related fans - Queen Thumper of the Bunny Clan & King Duffus of the Farlock Clan.  Thanks for not leaving halfway through the set.  All and all not a bad debut. Here's the set list: ITS MINE, Subterfuge, Dying, Crawl, Devil's Due, Senseless Persecution (scratched), Detroit Metal, BHLK, Descend (only 1st 2 verses).

September 8, 2001 - Geno's in Portland ME
The Good the Bad and the Ugly. That's all I can say about our Portland debut.
Disregarding repeated warnings we loaded up the truck and went to Genos and it was nothing like anyone described. They were cool and we had a good time. However some of the new stuff we added at the last minute sounded like we added it at the last minute. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was a surprise success. Before the show one of the patrons, obviously a rock and roll veteran, gave me advice about warming up the tubes in my amp for an hour before I play. Apparently this is sound advice because he kept repeating it even after I told him my amp doesn't have any tubes in it. Anyhow he loved the sound check and danced like a maniac. Longtime P'Dwarf associate Doug Rioux can be heard on the video screaming out lyrics from the two man mosh pit.
Thanks to Nate, Jen, and Doug for hooking us up with the gig and places to crash!
Set lists: Set I: IT'S MINE!, Subterfuge, Dying, Crawl, B.H.L.K, Descend Set
II: Crawl (by request) Detroit Metal, Senseless Persecution, Fade To Black, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Untied, Devil's Due, N.I.B. Set III: IT'S MINE!, Subterfuge, Dying, Crawl, Devil's Due, Senseless Persecution, Detroit Metal, B.H.L.K., Descend

October 18, 2001 - O'Briens in Allston, MA
Starting to hit our stride. Got off a really tight set (and a full one to boot).
Only hit a couple of minor snags, luckily the good thing about playing all originals is nobody can tell, they just think you are doing some wierd ass go-back-to-Berklee jam. Ghetto Thunder and Indu ripped it up the rest of the night. Thanks for the drinks boys! Set list: IT'S MINE, Subterfuge, Dying, Untied, Crawl, Devil's Due, Senseless P., Detroit Metal, BHLK, Descend

October 27, 2001 - the boneyard in Salem, MA
Spoooooooooky.   Played a Halloween party in the basement of a cemetery in Salem.  It was P'Dwarf & friends featuring Seavey Bowdoin (Legend of Jesse Christos, BPS All-Stars)on guitar and Teacher (BPS All-Stars)on the skins.  Dr. Lizard - vocals,  D'Baggg Elway - guitar, Smooth Up Pete Roafie -bass.   D'Baggg exercised some demons with a double dose of Fueled by Hate tunes - "End My Pain" (dedicated to the kid who took his life in the very basement we played) &"One Shot, Two Kills" then the BPS All-Stars crucified some cover tunes.  And with a shout of "Let's go kill some hookers!" the dead were left once again to rest in peace.  Set list: Devil's Due, Detroit Metal, Dying, Senseless P. , Descend, BHLK, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, IT'S MINE, Crawl, Subterfuge

March 24, 2002 - O'Briens in Allston, MA
Good old O'Briens. Our first gig with Whiplash on the skins. His kit took up so floor space the other bands had to leave their gear in their cars! The drummer from one of the other bands told him he was thrashing out so hard to the drums he got whiplash. Thus the name was born. We played a nice and loud set. We added Danzig's "Twist of Cain" much to the delight of the boys from Steelhead. The last band of the night kicked serious ass. They are called Black Trip and they are fronted by Guma, a guitarist/vocalist from Brazil (naturally they played Sepultura). The set went: It's mine, Subterfuge, Crawl, Untied, Twist of cain, Devil's Due, Senseless P, Detroit Metal, Descend, BHLK

April 25, 2002 - The Loft at Wheaton College in Norton, MA
Lizard's homecoming. This was basically a talent show for some college kids and we were frightfully out of place. The night was mostly a blur as I spent an hour or so throwing up outside. That's the first and last time I DON"T drink before a show. I played the whole set naseaus so when some prick started throwing food I naturally was the only one who got hit. I got plunked in the head with an onion ring and played most of the set with Bar-B Q' sauce on my strings. And we didn't even get paid! At least D'Baggg and his buddies moshed hard enough to scare the shit out of the prissy co-eds who endured the show. I had to cut Descend out of the set because I thought the fast part would make me puke. Set list: It's mine, Subterfuge, Crawl, Untied, Twist of cain, Devil's Due, Dying, Detroit Metal, BHLK

June 8, 2002 - Geno's in Porland, ME.
Metal comes to Potland!! The night started out great, our opening act - The Reverend and the Freak - were great, I think everyone in the place laughed most of the whole set, I especially liked " I hate cops 'cause they suck ". Then it was time for metal to invade Portland as Primordial Dwarf took the stage!! We played 2 kick ass sets that I'm glad to say came off pretty much without a hitch, except for my bass drum pedal coming off about five times, another point made for having 2 bass drums!! KOR did an outstanding rendition of " fuckin' " off the Fueled by Hate cd, which belongd to our very own D'baggg. Also, Nate and Jen were married that day!! It made it that much more special that were able to still make the show, thanks and congrats!! Doug Rioux made a special appearance to do the vocals for "Crawl" which was way cool. For Whom The Bell Tolls ( first time playing it out ) was a big hit!! We also played 2 new originals, Dark Fall and Jugular, and I'm glad to say everyone was headbanging to both!! All in all, a great show. Set list I:It's Mine, Subterfuge, Untied, N.I.B.,Crawl, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Dark Fall, B.H.L.K. Set II: Devil's Due, Senseless P, Twist of Cain, Fuckin, Dying, Descend, Detroit Metal, Jugular
- Whiplash

March 14, 2003 - O'Briens in Allston, MA
Primordial Dwarf emerges from a far too lengthy hibernation with two fifths new recruits. Bones makes a triumphant debut as the frontman giving P'Dwarf the voice we have been missing. E Man makes his premier on drums like a coked-up octopus. And KoR shows of his new pair of Doc Martins. Given the new line up, footware and set list the show surprising goes off near flawlessly. Which is pretty damn important since P'Dwarf also had its largest draw to date. Jiya ripped open the night. Talk about cruel fate: one of the Jiya guys was pestering me to play Sabbath. The moment I have been wait for for all my life and I had nothing! Big Alice and the Blue Bloods rounded of the bill. The Sabbathless set went: Prey for Me (debut), ITS MINE, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Retribution (debut), Crawl, Subterfuge, Detroit Metal, BHLK. - Roaf

April 5, 2003 - PAs Lounge in Union Square, Somerville, MA
Saturday night with Wedgie and Jiya
We got to drunk to remember to pick up our money after the show, Rock and Roll.

April 24, 2003 - O'Briens in Allston, MA
"It's a Thursday night at O'Brien's in Allston. A small television above the bar shows sports. Another TV in a corner across the room beams promises of Keno windfall. On the wall, Elvis Presley shakes hands with a bemused Richard Nixon. The lighting is diffuse and sickly green; with a smoking ban weeks away, a substantial gray-yellow haze wafts wall-to-wall, half obfuscating a dingy stage that recedes into a corner, cloaked in shadow. On it prowls a heavy-metal band called Primordial Dwarf, whose singer howls with guttural relish into a microphone held like a poleax. Meanwhile, two dozen or so people loll around the place, tilting back Budweiser longnecks and pulling lazily on Winston Lights." - Boston Phoenix
Somewhere in the article we were also called a "mediocre metal band"!
Drag, Black Apple and Nancy Mroczek,PhD also played.
EMan complained most of the night. Soon after the show he gave us an ultimatum that he should replace Bones on vocals and his buddy would play the drums. Needless to say, this was his last show with P'Dwarf.

May 31, 2003 - The Freak Show, Athol, MA cable TV
The boob-tube debut. The Teacher sat in on drums for P'Dwarf's swan song on public access TV in the western Mass village of Athol. The video (with its slick special effects) is sure to become an underground cult film. BHLK, Subterfuge, It's Mine and Detroit Metal went well but the unplanned KoRuptor was a cluster fuck from begining til merciful end.

Unconfirmed P'Dwarf sitings -

June 30, 2003 - Salem, MA: impromptu jam - Roaf, KoR, Bones, D'Baggg with Jay of SHD on drums. Crawl, Subterfuge

October 6, 2003 Spears/Bowdoin Wedding in Dot, MA: Lee Dwarf - D'Baggg & Roaf with Noele Lita Lee on vocals and Teacher on drums. Black Wedding, Let Me Put My Love Into You, Crazy Train
